Brandy
Brandy Simmons Is the co-founder and Executive Director of The Everly Project. Brandy has been practicing harm reduction personally and professionally for many years. She has several years of professional experience working in a medical shelter, at the intersection of substance use and chronic and acute medical needs. This experience, along with her lived experience, have led to a passion for challenging medical stigma, which she has seen first hand can limit the quality and length of life for people who use drugs.
Brandy helped create a weekly recovery group that centers on harm reduction, where everyone is welcome and people can define recovery in any way that works for them. Full stop.
Brandy designs all Everly Project flyers, logo, and harm reduction kit materials. She believes that people who use drugs deserve not just pragmatic supplies to help reduce harm, but beautiful things that make them feel special and loved. Brandy lives together with her big, amazing family including her kids, brother, grandson, nephew, and five cats!
